It was reported yesterday that after recovering from coronavirus, Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor will donate plasma after getting tested to help those who are still battling with the deadly virus. Now, a senior official at King George’s Medical University said that Kanika would have to wait for some time before donating, "Blood sample of Kanika Kapoor was examined and almost all parameters about plasma donation were found to be appropriate. However, the hemoglobin quantity was found less than the standard. Hence, she has to wait for a few days for plasma donation," Professor M L B Bhatt, KGMU’s Vice-Chancellor said.
On the other hand, the Head of Department of Transfusion Medicine at KGMU, Dr. Tulika Chandra said, "The blood sample of Kanika Kapoor was examined for plasma donation, and it was found positive. But she has to wait for some time." On Saturday, Kanika wrote an Instagram note saying, "I know there are several versions of stories out there about me. Some of these seem to be fuelled even more because I have chosen to be silent until now."
She further added, "I am at home in Lucknow spending some quality time with my parents :) Every person that I have come In contact with being It in UK, Mumbai, or Lucknow has shown no symptoms of COVID 19, In-fact all those tested have been negative." She was charged under IPC Section 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and Section 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life).
