KALYAN: A special medical camp was organised on Tuesday for journalists from Kalyan-Dombivli area for Covid-19 testing at the Heritage Hall in Dombivli. The region so far has witnessed 143 positive cases of Covid-19.
The private camp was organised by the NGO of Dr Shirkant Shinde, MP (Member of Parliament) from Kalyan Lok Sabha seat.
During the camp, private lab staff collected swab samples from over 65 journalists from print and electronic media. The results of tests are expected to come by Wednesday.
Talking to TOI, Shinde said, "The journalists along with police, doctors and others engaged in essential services are also working on field to keep us updated about what is happening across city and country by risking their lives during this situation, and this is the reason I decided to organise Covid-19 tests of all journalists in my constituency."
Recently, similar Covid-19 tests were held in Mumbai where over 53 journalists were tested Covid-19 positive, out of which some have been discharged while some are still taking treatment.
