LUCKNOW: Indian Medical Association-Medical Students’ Network (UP) has demanded increase in internship stipend of MBBS students from Rs 7,500 to Rs 15,000 per month.
In a letter to CM Yogi Adityanath, the students’ network, which claims to be the representative body of MBBS interns, said the stipend was Rs 7,500 per month in government medical colleges and Rs 6,000 in private medical colleges.
“The amount has not been raised in UP for last 10 years, whereas the stipend is Rs 23,500 in central government funded medical educational institutes,” the letter added.
