NEW DELHI: The government said Tuesday that it had received assurance from
Kuwait that the Gulf nation was deeply committed to friendly relations with India and that it didn't support any interference in the internal affairs of India.
This followed claims on
Twitter by “non-official” handles including human rights activists of attacks on Muslims in certain parts of India when the country was fighting the
coronavirus pandemic. “It may also be noted that on the request of Kuwait, India recently deployed a Rapid Response Team there to assist the country in its fight against corona virus. ” said MEA spokesperson
Anurag Srivastava.
Ambassador of Kuwait to India Jassem Al-Najem too talked about the principle of non-interference in relations between the two countries.
