Social, religious gatherings banned in Gujarat

GANDHINAGAR: Gujarat home department issued a notification on Monday, banning all kinds of social and religious gatherings and public events until further notice following the coronavirus pandemic outbreak.
The government resolution (GR) said that following guidelines issued by the Union government, the state government has decided to ban all kinds of social and religious gatherings until further notice.
During this period, the use of loudspeakers or gathering at one place will not be allowed, as gatherings can increase the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Religious and social leaders have been advised to create awareness regarding the notification among the people. The notification said those found violating the directions will face legal action.
