CHENNAI: A salon shop owner at Koyambedu tested positive for Covid-19 two days ago, Greater Chennai Corporation officials said on Monday.
The 36-year-old hairdresser has been admitted to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. His health condition is stable, according to officials.
Corporation officials now have a task of tracing people who visited the salon which was kept open illegally during the lockdown. Officials are doing door-to-door survey in the area to identify the residents who went to the salon for haircut or any other service.
Official said at least 10 people had been identified. Some of them have given their swabs which will be tested. Their family members have been home quarantined.
It may be recalled that Chennai’s first Covid-19 patient was a hairdresser from UP.
