Amid prevalent chaos and uncertainty over access to the essential services and commodities during the lockdown, we bring you the latest updates from your city.
*CM Vijay Rupani appealed to the people of Gujarat on Sunday to not give heed to the rumours being spread by some quarters on lockdown rules relaxation. He said that the decision to continue restriction in four cities — Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot — was taken after receiving feedback from several sections of society.
*Update at 9.30am: Death toll due to Covid-19 rises to 872 in country; cases climb to 27,892: Union health ministry
*The Ahmedadad Municipal Corporation is all set to increase the Covid bed capacity. AMC has taken over a private hospital in Naroda and has set up another Covid care centre at a fivestar hotel on the Iskcon-Ambli road.
*ANI update at 8.30am: Several people gathered for shopping in Limbayat, Surat amid Corona lockdown. RB Brahmbhatt, Surat CP says, "There is a Madina Masjid in Limbayat where the population is very dense, people gathered there for shopping. 3 offences registered, arrests being made".

*Gujarat on Sunday recorded 18 more deaths taking the toll related to Covid-19 to 151.
*Gujarat has second highest death toll in India after Maharashtra which recorded 342 deaths. From the first death reported in Surat on March 22, it took 27 days for Gujarat to record 50 deaths till April 18.
*All 18 deaths were recorded from Ahmedabad, a coronavirus hotspot in the country.
*Gujarat has increased its daily testing capacity for from 3,150 last week to 3,770, with the ICMR nod, at labs at GMERS Medical Colleges in Gandhinagar and Valsad.
*While the death rate for those having co-morbidities is higher in Gujarat, there is a glimmer of hope. State health department officials said that 17% of the recovered patients had one or more co-morbidities.
