Panchkula: 11 booked for fake escape call to cops

PANCHKULA: Eleven persons from two different families have been booked for violating the lockdown norms and informing the cops about a fake Covid-19 case at Khark Mangoli on Saturday night.
According to the police, they received a call regarding a Covid-19 positive woman roaming in their neighborhood. A team of police and the health department rushed to the spot with all the necessary medication, but found it to be a fake call.
The police after enquiry found that someone misguided them through a call about their neighbours. Later, when the neighbours came to know about the call, they had a scuffle and attacked each other with wooden sticks. A few of them also received minor injuries.
The police had to intervene and registered a case under Sections 188, 269, 270, 323 of the IPC at Sector 5 police station.
