Amid prevalent chaos and uncertainty over access to the essential services and commodities during the lockdown, we bring you the latest updates from your city.
*As many as 500 students from various districts of Punjab, who were preparing for various competitive examinations in Rajasthan’s coaching hub Kota, will return to the state on Monday morning in seven buses. Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh had on April 24 taken up the matter of return of the students with his Rajasthan counterpart Ashok Gehlot.

*Haryana has intensified measures to seal all interstate borders, especially areas touching national capital Delhi. Apart from increased police deployment in Jhajjar, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Palwal districts, even those entering with valid documents are being questioned.
*Sector 15 will remain a containment zone for 28 days and not two weeks from April 15.According to deputy commissioner M K Ahuja, after discussing new instructions and advisories, the time frame has been extended to contain the spread of Covid-19.
*Chandigarh traffic police department has started an e-pass system for the release of impounded vehicles from the traffic lines, Sector 29 in the city during the lockdown period.
*For the first time, city-based jewellers witnessed zero sales on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya on Sunday. Some jewellers made efforts to go online to take orders and deliver later. They had also offered attractive offers, but nothing worked.
*Many shops selling educational books, electric appliances likes fans and bulbs and other non-essential goods and services opened in panchkula on Sunday in a move to bring some normalcy at a time when Covid-19 has stopped business activities and forced people to stay indoors.
