As the country remains under a nationwide lockdown to fight against the spread of COVID-19, 14-year-old Soumya Ranjan Roy from Bhubaneswar, visited the Khandagiri-Udayagiri caves to feed the stray monkeys who otherwise depend on tourists for food. Soumya was commended by a local animal welfare organisation for his efforts. He will be awarded the title of ‘Friend of Monkey’ for his initiative.
