Coronavirus Pune: Corporates, NGO’s come forward to help the needy

As the cases of COVID-19 in the state and country are increasing, many corporates and NGOs are coming forward to help the needy during the COVID-19 pandemic

Pune: As the cases of COVID-19 in the state and country are increasing, many corporates and NGOs are coming forward to help the needy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rs 3.5 cr for COVID 19 crisis
Atlas Copco has committed to contribute Rs 3.5 crores to combat the COVID-19 crisis. The company has contributed Rs 1 Crore to PM-Cares Fund, and a contribution of Rs 2 crores has been earmarked for Naidu Hospital. The company has also contributed Rs 25 lakh for distributing Personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical equipment to the health and medical staff operating in various hospitals across Pune in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Pune chapter. The company is also partnering with NGOs to help support migrant labourers and daily wage workers with food and urgent essential supplies.
 
Police aides cancer patient
Hadapsar Police helped Cancer patient Ripusudan Kumar Sinha procure his cancer medicines. The police had received information that Sinha (resident of Manjari) needed the medicines, and he could not go out to get them due to old age and illness. The medicines were available only at a medical store at Swargate.

Mobile doorstep dispensary
Pune-based automotive major Force Motors and Bhartiya Jain Sanghatan (BJS) has initiated a mobile doorstep dispensary facility ‘Doctor Aplya Daari’ in Maharashtra. This initiative started on April 1, with 30 Mobile Dispensary Vans completely equipped with doctors, support staff, medicines moving to various economically weaker localities. All the medicines that are prescribed or given out free of charge. Over 62,000 residents have been checked, and more than 932 suspected COVID-19 patients were transferred to government hospitals in the last 24 days in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
 
Collaboration with hospitals
Indus Health Plus has collaborated with Sahyadri Hospital in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad for COVID-19 detection tests, to make these tests available to more people across the country. The company has also collaborated with Chirayu Hospital in Bhopal. Citizens can also check their symptoms here.
