The pub chain that owns The White Eagle in Rhoscolyn and The Oyster Catcher in Rhosneigr has gone into adminstration.

Sarah O’Toole and Jason Bell of the Manchester office of Grant Thornton UK LLP have been appointed joint administrators of 16 Hospitality.

The group owns and operates four pubs - the two on Anglesey and two sites in Cheshire - The Partridge in Stretton and The Old Hall Hotel in Frodsham

The pubs are currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, the majority of the workforce has been furloughed.

Sarah O’Toole said: “We are hopeful that we can find a buyer for the businesses despite the current challenges facing the pub and hospitality sector.”

The pubs are well known on the island for their food.

But hospitality has been hammered by the coronavirus pandemic with sites closed since the lockdown on March 22.
