Wrestling Fed goes online: Win with more likes on social media

HISAR: Members of All India Wrestling Federation said they will organise an online wrestling competition to maintain the fitness of wrestlers and their morale in lockdown. Prithvi Singh Bainiwal Bishnoi, chief advisor, All India Wrestling Federation, said in this “workout at home, win prize” online competition, players can send videos of their home workout on WhatsApp number 98918-23823 by May 3.
The videos will be uploaded on the social media platform of “wrestling world.” Winners will be given cash prizes of Rs 51,000, 31,000 and 21,000 on the basis of likes earned on social media, he said.
Federation president advocate Surendra Kaliraman of Sisai village, chairman Prashant Rohatgi alias Babbu Khalifa and mentor Ajay Bhardwaj said wrestlers are facing problems during the lockdown. They said wrestlers also fear gaining weight. “There are many wrestlers trying to maintain fitness by doing small workouts at home. In order to maintain their morale and inspire others, All India Wrestling Federation has decided to hold this competition,” they said.
