Elderly Flintshire residents are being targeted by unscrupulous traders who are pressurising them to have their driveways washed and disinfected, wrongly claiming it will protect them from Covid-19.
Police in Flintshire have said on social media they have received "numerous reports" from people being approached in this way.
NWP Flintshire said in a statement: "We have had numerous reports today of elderly and vulnerable people being pressured to have their driveways washed and disinfected.
"They’re claiming that it protects against the COVID-19 virus. To be clear, this is nonsense."
The police have been out patrolling and have stopped some suspects already but had said they are still looking for a white Transit tipper with registration similar to NA13.

The police statement added: "Please look out for your neighbours. We will respond robustly."
