MYSURU: Primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar clarified on Saturday that
SSLC exams would be conducted this year, putting an end to speculation that there was a proposal to cancel them.
“A decision on the future course of action [dates] will be taken after May 3, once the lockdown is relaxed,” he said at the Covid-19 review meeting in Chamarajanagar on Saturday.
Rumours about the government’s plans for
SSLC exams had caused confusion among students. In the original schedule, the
exams were supposed to begin on March 27. “Some people are trying to create confusion on the issue. Right now, we are fighting a bigger examination, posed by coronavirus. Once the lockdown is lifted exams will be held,” he said.
