Woman allegedly drives her Mitsubishi SUV over a pedestrian overpass at a Melbourne train station before being arrested for drink driving

A woman is expected to be charged with drink-driving after allegedly driving her car onto the pedestrian overpass at a Melbourne train station.

The 21-year-old is believed to have used a pedestrian ramp at Kananook Railway Station in Melbourne's southeast to reach its overpass about 2am Sunday morning.

Police say the woman drove her Mitsubishi ASX up the ramp and stopped at the top before remaining stationary for a while.

She became stuck between steel handrails and needed to be cut out by SES workers.  

She was breath-tested by police at the scene and returned a reading of 0.158, more than double the legal limit of 0.05.

The woman is expected to be charged with drink-driving and careless driving.
