AMBALA: The samples of all 64 contacts of Tharwa village coronavirus
patient (42) of Ambala district reported negative in their Covid-19 tests on Sunday told Ambala civil surgeon Dr
Kuldeep Singh.
Ambala health officials told the samples of patient’s wife and daughter have been collected on Sunday, and their reports are expected by Monday evening.
On Sunday, on the complaint of Dr Kuldeep Singh, the Ambala police booked a person for spreading rumour about Tharwa patient’s death.
A man suffering from diabetes and chronic renal disease of Tharwa village of Ambala had tested positive for Covid-19 at PGI, Chandigarh on Saturday. Following the Haryana health department in Ambala district traced his contacts from Tharwa village and from dialysis center at the civil hospital,
Ambala Cantonment.
Dr Kuldeep told, “A total of 37 contacts of Tharwa village Covid patient were traced from his village and 25 from the dialysis center and others at the civil hospital, Ambala Cantonment. All 64 contacts tested negative for Covid-19 on Sunday.”
“As the patient’s wife and daughter were with him at the PGI, Chandigarh, therefore, they were quarantined and their samples have been collected for Covid-19 test on Sunday. We are expecting their reports by Monday evening”, added Dr Kuldeep.
“The patient suffers diabetes and
chronic kidney disease from a past long time, and he survived on dialysis. The patient had visited dialysis center at civil hospital, Ambala Cantonment on April 14 and 20, therefore, the health workers working there were also screened. The patient was referred to PGI, Chandigarh from civil hospital Ambala Cantt on April 23”, added Dr Kuldeep.
“Other contacts were traced from Tharwa village as the patient used to meet several persons in his village on daily basis”, added Dr Kuldeep.
Now only the reports of his daughter and wife are awaited.
Ambala district recorded 13 positive cases of Covid-19, out of which, 10 persons recovered, 2 active cases, and 1 patient died.
One booked for spread rumour about his death
On the other side, the Ambala police on the complaint of Dr Kuldeep booked an accused
Yashpal Khabrilal for spreading rumour about death of Tharwa village patient and posting the misleading information about his death when the patient is undergoing treatment at PGI, Chandigarh. A case against Yashpal Khabrilal has been registered under Section 188 (disobedience of orders of public servant), 505 (1) (whoever makes, publishes or circulates any statement, rumour or report) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 54 (punishment for false warning) of the Disaster Management Act at
Ambala Sadar police station on Sunday.
Dr Kuldeep said, “The condition of patient is sick but he is still alive and his dialysis has been performed at PGI, Chandigarh.”
