PRAYAGRAJ: A day after three corona positive cases being traced in the two localities of the city, the district administration has converted both the localities as ‘hot-spots’ and are taking all precautionary measures along with cordoning off the entire locality with its neighbouring areas.

Prayagraj has quarantined all the 50 police personnel posted at kaundiyara police station including the SHO, computer operators, clerk etc. This has been done following the information that the two cousins, who had come from Mumbai and have been tested positive on Friday, roamed in the village along with one of their friend. This youth had visited
Kaundhiyara thana for some work and has also spend some time.
“On getting the information, I have asked the
SHO Praveen Singh and other staff to be quarantined at Motilal Degree college near their police station and as the thana has to function, Mahesh Kumar has been posted as SHO and additional PAC has been deployed at the police station”, said SSP Prayagraj,
Satyrath Aniruddha Pankaj.
The two youths, who have been tested positive had come to their home at Kapari to attend a ritual after the death of the father of one among them.
Meanwhile, at the hotspot in the city, several of the higher officials of the district administration including officiating divisional commissioner R
Ramesh Kumar, DIG KP Singh, vice chairman Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) T K Sibu etc visited the Shankarghat locality of the city and ascertained the steps being taken to check the spread of the virus. The entire locality was sprayed with chemical preparations for disinfecting the area and the police has sealed the entire locality.
The administration has also prepared the list of persons who have been in contact with the person who was tested positive for corona on Friday. Apart from his family, his fellow workers of the office and some of his friends have been identified by the authorities and the same has been sent for quarantine. Their swap samples have also been collected by the authorities and has been sent for testing.
Likewise, at the second hot-spot, identified at the Kapari village of
Shankargrah, administration has sealed the entire area. The health department has constituted 53 teams for keeping an eye on 8295 houses over the population of 41475 headcounts. The team, comprising 19 supervisors and health supervisors is overlooking the work for disinfecting the area. 35 cleaning staff workers are spreading bleaching powder and sanitising the area.
Similarly, at both the hots-spots of the district, the list of very household has been prepared by the administration after which strict vigil is being kept on the individuals, especially when it comes to surfacing of any symptoms among them.
Locals have also been told to follow the concept of self-quarantine and inform the administration if they come across any symptoms of corona.
