NEW DELHI: An elderly couple was murdered at their house in the Deenpur village of Chhawla in southwest Delhi on Friday. Police said that their son and his wife, who were earlier reported missing, were found and are suspects in the murder.
The police were informed about the incident by neighbours at Durga Vihar area. When the cops reached they found the couple, Raj Singh (61) and Omwati (58) lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds.
Their son Satish and his wife Kavita were in the house at the time of the incident. They however have contradictory statements.
Prima facie probe suggests that they were poisoned and then stabbed when they fell unconscious. The role of someone known to the family is suspected.
Police have sent the body for an autopsy. The reason behind the gruesome murder is being probed.
