DHFL promoters Kapil Wadhawan and his brother Dheeraj were granted interim relief by the special court of Mumbai in the Yes Bank scam case and extended the period of arrest till Monday. Both the brothers had filed an anticipatory bail petition before the court in this regard.

An anticipatory bail petition was given in a special court on Wednesday in connection with the case registered for the alleged role of the Wadhawan brothers in the Yes Bank scam, which was heard on Thursday. The Wadhawan brothers stated in their petition that they should be protected from arrest, at least during the period of lockdown in view of the coronavirus epidemic.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday filed its reply and objected to the anticipatory bail plea of ​​the Wadhawan brothers. However, the court will now hear the case on Monday and till then the agency has been directed not to take any punitive action against them. Explain that the Wadhawan brothers are accused in the Yes Bank-DHFL fakewara case.

According to the information, DHFL (Dewan Housing Finance Limited) group had taken a loan of Rs 3,700 crore from Yes Bank. The ED is investigating the alleged nexus between the two business groups and their promoters. The FIR filed by the CBI in connection with Yes Bank fraud also names the Wadhawan brothers.
