PATNA: The uncertainty over competitive examinations has left several aspirants anxious and worried. Many students, who take a break after Class XII board exams and graduation, are concerned about their career.
Anshika Agarwal (25), an IAS aspirant, is under stress due to closure of coaching institute. “Our course has not completed yet. I’m finding it difficult now to prepare for civil services exams at home. Besides, there is no certainty about the examination, which is scheduled to be held from May 31,” she said.
Nikhil Kumar, another UPSC aspirant and resident of Bakerganj, said lockdown has made it tough for him to prepare for UPSC exam. “Without mock tests and study materials, it is difficult to learn much,” he said.

To appear in competitive examinations, many aspirants have started taking personal coaching with the help of technology.

Aftab Alam, a medical aspirant, said he recently started watching online lectures of teachers. “The online videos have kept me busy. The teachers explain topics in easy and precise way,” he said.

“I could not return home in Saharsa due to sudden lockdown. I was quite nervous initially. However, now I utilise my time in preparations with the help of my coaching teachers,” said Pintu Singh, who lives in a lodge at Naya Tola. Pintu is preparing for chartered accountancy.

Several coaching institutes have also started online classes. Anand Jayswal, tutor at a coaching institute for engineering aspirants, said they keep the students busy by providing home assignments, sharing study materials, lectures and counselling them on daily basis.

Bipin Agarwal, manager of a medical coaching institute at Budha Colony, said, “We are making all efforts to provide study materials and online classes to students.”

Sukriti Yadav, a medical aspirant, said virtual classes helped her understand the topics well. “The teachers are also conducting tests,” she said.
