A van driving on the wrong side of the A55 narrowly avoided a head-on collision with an oncoming van.
A picture captured by van driver Phil Roberts shows the terrifying moment when what is understood to be a foreign left hand drive delivery van came towards him.
The near miss happened on the A55 eastbound, just before the Britannia Bridge on Anglesey, yesterday lunchtime, according to Mr Roberts, from Bangor.
He said: "I was driving back from Holyhead, I was coming round the corner on the A55 in the 50 zone and just saw this van coming towards me.
"We both stopped, and I held the traffic back so the van could reverse and he just went back to the other side of the road."
Thankfully there was no accident, but Mr Roberts said to do his job, one must keep their wits about them.
"I was just baffled at how he could have made that mistake,” he added.
"There is a barrier that begins once you come off the bridge that divides the road.
"Perhaps he didn't understand the roads, or perhaps the sat nav told him to keep right when he was coming off the bridge to avoid the turning for Llanfair PG.”
Mr Roberts, added: "He just put his hand up as if he was apologising, and then drove off."
He said he did not report the incident to North Wales Police.
