Share market update: Bank shares up; Kotak Bank jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Bank shares were trading in the positive zone in Thursday's session.

Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 5.44 per cent), RBL BANK (up 4.61 per cent), ICICI Bank (up 3.59 per cent), Federal Bank (up 3.29 per cent), Bandhan Bank (up 2.19 per cent), HDFC Bank (up 1.82 per cent), Axis Bank (up 1.8 per cent), IDFCBANK (up 1.46 per cent), Punjab National Bank (up 0.8 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 0.62 per cent) and IndusInd Bank (up 0.37 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Bank index was trading 2.35 per cent up at 20165.4 around 12:18PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 130.50 points at 9317.8 , while the BSE Sensex was up 436.53 points at 31816.08.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 41 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent., RBL Bank Ltd., Tata Motors, SBI, ONGC, ICICI Bank, RIL, Vedanta and Axis Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
