Uttar Pradesh: Entire police station sent to quarantine, after lockdown accused tested positive in Firozabad

AGRA: More than two dozen cops of Ramgadh police station in Firozabad were sent to quarantine on Thursday, after an accused of lockdown violation was tested Covid 19 positive.
According to police, six men were caught on April 14 from Ramgadh police jurisdiction for violating lockdown. Later, after the FIR, their medical examination was conducted and samples were sent to Saifai medical college.
On Thursday, one of the accused sample was tested corona positive, after which Ramgadh SHO Shyam Singh and 26 other cops posted at the police station were sent to quarantine.
In the evening, entire police station was sanitised with disinfectant and a new inspector was given the charge of the Ramgadh police station.
Prabal Pratap Singh, superintendent of police (city), “All the cops including SHO Ramgadh has been quarantined and their samples are being collected. Further, contact tracing has begun after the covid 19 patient revelation.”
Sachindra Patel, superintendent of police Firozabad district said, “Inspector Anoop Kumar Tiwari has been given charge of the police station until further notice.”
Earlier in neighbouring district Agra, dozen of cops including SHO Ajay Kaushal of Hariparvat, Agra were quarantined after a burglary suspect was tested corona positive. Fortunately, no cop was tested positive.
According to district health department, two new cases of covid 19 were reported in the district, which took the tally of Firozabad to 64.
