BATHINDA: A case has been registered against journalist Arnab Goswami at
Abohar for his comments against
All India Congress Committee(AICC) president
Sonia Gandhi. The case has been registered on the complaint of Punjab Congress freedom fighter cell chairman, Abohar resident
Harmahinder Singh Grover. In his complaint Grover stated that he was watching TV on Wednesday night, he listened to ongoing debate where Goswami used 'unparliamentary language' for Sonia Gandhi.
Acting on his complaint case u/s 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language), 153B (Imputations, assertions prejudicial to national-integration), 295A (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 505 IPC (Statements conducing to public mischief)and section 67 of IT Act 2000 has been registered at Abohar City 2 Police Station.

Harjit Singh when contacted confirmed the registration of case. He said that “case has been registered under various sections on the complaint of one Harmahinder Singh Grover and investigations will be made”.
