Share market update: FMCG shares mixed; HUL slips 3%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading on a mixed note in Thursday's session.

Shares of Godrej Consumer Products (up 2.45 per cent), Emami (up 2.03 per cent), Britannia Industries (up 1.94 per cent), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (up 1.59 per cent), Jubilant Foodworks (up 1.02 per cent) and P & G Hygiene (up 0.61 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Hindustan Unilever (down 2.81 per cent), VBL (down 2.58 per cent), United Spirits (down 1.22 per cent), Marico (down 0.86 per cent), Nestle India (down 0.8 per cent), Colgate Palmolive (India) (down 0.53 per cent), United Breweries (down -0.44 per cent), Dabur India (down 0.18 per cent) and ITC (down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.72 per cent down at 28974.95 around 02:24PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 127.85 points at 9315.15 , while the BSE Sensex was up 464.91 points at 31844.46 .

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent., RBL Bank Ltd., Tata Motors, SBI, ICICI Bank, ONGC, YES Bank, RIL and Axis Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
