THANE: A 49-year-old general
surgeon at a Manpada hospital is the fifth doctor from Thane to have tested positive for Covid-19 even as a five-month-old boy from
Rabodi became the youngest to be infected in this area. Thane’s case tally has risen to 168.
Earlier this month, the surgeon and his team were put in quarantine after they came in contact with a Covid-19 patient. When their reports came negative on April 14, the surgeon resumed work. But on Monday, he started getting
symptoms and too the test again. On Wednesday, he tested positive and got admitted in Horizon Prime Hospital.
The
infant is likely to have got the infection from his father, a ward boy in a Naupada hospital, said officials.
