PG owner misbehaves with woman in Mohali

MOHALI: The Mohali police have booked a 27-year-old man for outraging the modesty of a woman and extorting rent money from her. The accused has been identified as Manoj Kumar, a resident of Kumbra village, who runs a paying guest.
According to the victim, who resides in the paying guest, wrote in her complaint that the accused was demanding rent from her. “When the victim told Manoj that she doesn’t have money to pay the rent, he allegedly abused and assaulted her,” said a police official.
The accused has earlier too misbehaved with her by entering in her room. A case has been registered.
Inspector Rajneesh Kumar, SHO, Phase VIII police station, said, “The victim complained to us. The accused was arrested and later released on bail.”
