Civil hospital reports 2 Covid-19 suspected deaths

Ludhiana: Two suspected Covid-19 deaths were reported at the civil hospital on Wednesday.
A 55-year-old male from Mandi Laduka in Fazilka district was admitted on Wednesday morning at 9.30am with complaints of pain in the chest and breathlessness for two hours. Doctors said, “He was declared dead at 10am, and a throat swab was taken after 30 minutes. Acting cautiously, we have sent his throat swab for Covid-19 test at Government Medical College in Patiala.”
In another case, a 17-year-old male resident of Vijay Nagar — who was admitted at ESIC Hospital emergency at 9.30pm on Tuesday night — was declared dead on Wednesday morning. His brother said, “He became unconscious all of a sudden, and after a few hours, he was dead in the hospital. He was undergoing treatment, as he had digestion issues.” The on-duty doctors at the mortuary said, “His throat swab was taken after he died. We are waiting for the report.”
4 cured
Four patients of Covid-19 have got cured in the district so far, with three out of them getting cured on Tuesday itself. In another case, a 55-year-old man from Chowkiman village in Jagraon tehsil, who had tested positive for coronavirus on April 6, later tested negative on April 18 and 19.
Meanwhile, Fortis Hospital here gave training to policemen regarding hand-washing for protection against Covid-19. More then 100 police personnel we given masks, gloves, and handwash training, as a gesture of appreciation for their working on the roads to protect residents.
