Noida: The Covid-19 response team of Gautam Budh Nagar has decided to pause the rapid antibody tests after the Indian Council of Medical Research gave out an advisory to do so.
Reports from different parts of the country showed huge variations between rapid antibody test and RT-PCR tests. While RT-PCR tests are effective in detecting the virus, rapid antibody tests have not shown satisfactory results.
The Nodal officer of the response team in the district Narendra Bhooshan said the rapid kits had been procured from the Union government and would be used only after ICMR gives a go-ahead after further research.TNN
