Noida: The
RWA of
Sector 19 has objected to the administration’s decision to count the woman who tested positive from their
sector on Tuesday, claiming she is not a resident but a relative of a resident of the sector. While the RWA managed to stall the sealing of the sector late Tuesday night, four family members of the patient got tested at a private isolation facility on Wednesday.
“There is no Covid case from Sector 19 as was maintained by the health department on Tuesday. The 50-year-old woman, who tested positive and is undergoing dialysis treatment in a private hospital in Vaishali, is a resident of Vaishali and the mother of a resident of our sector. She was only in care of a couple (daughter and son-in-law) who lives on rent here,” RC Gupta, RWA general secretary, told TOI. He added that the reports of the family members are awaited. If any one of them test positive, the area will be sealed.
Gupta added that the residents spoke with the concerned authorities to delay the sealing of the sector as of now. “We hope they will consider our request.”
However, Gautam Budh Nagar chief medical officer (CMO), Dr Deepak Ohri, did not comment on this and said that a 15-year-old girl tested positive on Wednesday.
“The patient is a resident of Kasganj and was admitted in Child PGI hospital for Leukaemia treatment. She was tested for Covid-19 and the results came positive, taking the total number of cases in GB Nagar to 103, with 59 active cases after 44 patients recovered,” he said.
