Man killed in hit-&-run
A man was killed in a hit-&-run case near Jalandhar Bypass. The victim was identified as Radhe Shyam. Hukum Chand of New Gurnam Nagar said he along with his relative Radhe were returning from DMC Hospital when an unidentified vehicle hit their scooter near Jalandhar Bypass. Both fell on the road while Radhey got severe injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he died. Salem Tabri police have registered a case against unidentified accused.
Grocery store owner nabbed
Acting on a complaint, Ludhiana vigilance bureau raided a grocery store in Shimlapuri and found its owner Kuldeep Singh overcharging people for essential goods. The food inspector who also accompanied vigilance bureau imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the accused.
