LUCKNOW: Private fourwheelers, including ones attached with government offices or officers travelling without a valid pass issued by the district administration, will be booked under Motor Vehicle Act or seized from Friday.
Police will allow private vehicles going for emergency work with proof or documents. When caught on main roads on Wednesday without a pass, many people were seen giving excuses that they were going for distributing food packets or for taking medicines. While some had written names of their organisations on plain paper pasted on windscreen, others had written that their vehicles were engaged in Covid-19 duty.
Action would also be taken against commercial vehicles carrying people.
