4 new suspected cases of COVID-19 in Goa

Four new suspected cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported in Goa on Thursday.

All four patients were quarantined at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) at Bambolim immediately after they were found showing symptoms of COVID-19.

A total of nine patients, suspected of having COVID-19 are currently in the isolation ward at the GMC. Till date, Goa has seen 177 suspected cases of the viral virus.

As per the media bulletin issued by the directorate of health services, of the 178 samples, 49 tested negative for the virus, while reports of the remaining 129 samples are awaited.

On Thursday, 18 more persons were placed under quarantine; around 1,794 persons have isolated themselves in their homes in the state.  The state has so far seen seven confirmed cases of COVID-19 and all patients have recovered from the disease.

Presently, one of the seven patients, who have recovered from COVID-19, has been quarantined and kept under observation at Acron Seaway Resort in Candolim, while the remaining six recovered patients have been placed under home quarantine for a period of seven days as per the protocol set by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
