Himachal Pradesh has reported a fresh positive case of Covid-19 from
Sirmaur district taking the total count of positive cases detected so far to 40. Person tested positive is
Tablighi Jamaat member from
Paonta Sahib sub division of Sirmaur district and was in quarantine.
Earlier he was tested negative but was tested positive on Wednesday. In a major relief, seven positive patients, all members of Tablighi Jamaat including six from Una and one from Sirmaur, were tested negative on Wednesday.
Person who has been tested positive was earlier tested negative on April 7. He has been quarantined at institutional quarantine centre at Taruwala in Sirmaur district after it was found that he had returned from Delhi after attending Tablighi Jamaat markaj at
Nizamuddin in Delhi. After testing positive for Corona virus, he was shifted to ESIC Hospital Katha in Baddi sub division of
Solan district.
On Wednesday, seven positive patients of Corona virus were tested negative and all of them were admitted at ESIC Hospital Katha for treatment. While six of them were from Una district, one was from Sirmaur district.
After their discharge from hospital, they will be kept in quarantine centres at Una and Sirmaur and would be kept under observation for 14 days period during which their samples would be tested again and of tests are negative only then they will be sent homes.
DGP, Himachal Pradesh, S R Mardi said that Tablighi Jamaat member who had returned from Delhi was earlier tested negative but now has been tested positive. He said that as seven other positive patients have been tested negative now 17 active positive cases are under treatment in the hospitals and situation is better in the state. he also warned of strict action on the instances of attack on frontline Corona warriors.
In the state total 1113 Tablighi Jamaat members and their contacts have been identidied and quarantined so far. Against 112 Tablighi Jamaat members 31 FIRs have also been registered while 11 persons have been arrested.
In Himachal Pradesh total 3700 people were tested for Covid-19 till Wednesday, 2805 people are under active surveillance while 5496 people have completed observation period of surveillance.
