The Association of All Goa Muslim Jamats, an organisation for Muslims in the state, has come out with an advisory to help the community cope with restrictions related to the lockdown during the holy month of Ramadan.

As per the advisory, there will be no congregational acts of worship held outside homes and no
Taraveeh prayers and Iftars will be held at mosques.

Providing instructions to Muslims on how to observe the holy month during the lockdown, the Association has advised that devotees should observe Roza and have Iftar in the evenings at their homes.

The Association has said that no congregational prayers should be held with neighbours or in the locality and mohallah, but only in homes. The Association has asked people to reach out to the needy and pray for the end of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has also said that Iftar parties should not be arranged at homes or in the neighbourhood.

The decision on the sighting of moon to announce the start of the holy month will be taken on Friday at 8.30 pm, says the press note.
