MSC has provided onward travel from Marseille for all passengers through a variety of means including road, with coaches, rail, and air. Neither any of the passengers on-board in the ship nor the 927 crew displayed any symptoms of the COVID-19 disease as informed by the cruise lines.
MSC Magnifica embarked on the last set of passengers and crew on March 10 from Wellington, New Zealand, which is more than 40 days ago. Since Wellington, the MSC Magnifica called on the Australian ports of Sydney, Melbourne, and Fremantle for refueling and provisions, as well as Colombo in Sri Lanka, en route to France. In addition, the company also chartered aircraft as necessary to get guests home.
