Pune: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has been waiting for the State Government's directives regarding how to collect the board examination answer sheets from the teachers and moderators.

Board's Proposal to State govt

The Board has sent a proposal to the State Government to allow the teachers assessing the answer-sheets to travel to deposit the answer sheets to the Divisional board offices. However, the several organisations of teachers had suggested creating four collection centres of answer sheets in each district, which could then be submitted to the Divisional boards by the centre head. But no decision in this regard has been taken by the State yet.

While the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination was over before the lockdown, the last paper of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination was cancelled due to the extension of lockdown till May 3.

It is essential that the answer sheets are supposed to be collected and submitted to the Board in time to ensure that the results of HSC and SSC are generated on their usual time without delay.

Teachers permitted to carry answer sheets 

As the lockdown had begun almost immediately after the examinations were over, the teachers were given permission to carry the answer sheets home to finish the assessment.

"We have asked the Divisional boards to try to get some transport allowance for teachers at the local level. At the same time, we are also trying to get such permission from the State Government itself," said MSBSHSE Secretary Ashok Bhosale.
