MUMBAI: In order to check the spread of the corona virus, containment zones have been declared in the
Palghar district on Wednesday.
Containment zone is where Covid-19 patients and their high- and low-risk contacts live. Entry and exit from such areas are restricted.
The district collector Dr Kailash Shinde declared several residential and crowded areas as containment zones. In the
Vasai-Virar region, that has seen six Covid-19 deaths, 30 areas are under the red zone. Residential areas like
Evershine City,
Gokul Township,
Yeshwant Viva Township are now under the containment zone. Details of the zones in the Vasa-Virar region is available on www.vvcmc.in.
In rural Palghar, several areas and villages have been placed under the containment zone. Information on areas that fall under the containment zone in rural Palghar is available on www. Palghar.gov.in
Till Wednesday morning, the district has recorded 112 positive cases (including seven deaths). The majority of cases and deaths (93) are in the Vasai-Virar region. The reports of 715 persons are awaited while 1,345 persons have been found to be negative. A total of 18 persons have been discharged.
