MC employee, 38, commits suicide in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: A Class IV employee of the municipal corporation allegedly committed suicide at his house in Jawahar Nagar early on Tuesday. Police said Surindra Kumar, 38, was depressed.
Surindra lived in the city with his younger brother, Joginder Kumar.
Joginder said, “Surindra and I went to sleep after dinner on Monday night. When I woke up around 10am, I found Surindra hanging from a ceiling fan.”
Kochar Market police post ASI Bhupinder Singh said, “Surindra was depressed. He had no dispute with his brother. His wife and two children live in Himachal Pradesh. We have approached the HP police to issue his family a pass to travel to Ludhiana. We will proceed further after recording his wife’s statement.”
