After patients complaints, CMO inspects Ludhiana civil hospital

LUDHIANA: A day after some suspected patients of Covid-19 had complained about the poor services being provided to them by the paramedical staff of the civil hospital, the chief medical officer (CMO) of the district paid a visit to the civil hospital on Tuesday and carried out inspection of the arrangements being done by them.
He also gave strict directions to the medical staff of the hospital for managing each and every single necessity of suspected patients as per their needs.
Earlier, on Monday, some suspected patients had raised their voice against the hospital authorities for making them sleep on bed sheets, which had not been washed by the hospital authorities for the past 15 days. Apart from this, the patients in the isolation ward had complained about the medical staff of the hospital for not attending them properly and didn't listen to their needs despite repeated attempts.
Moreover, patients had also raised their voice against the hospital authorities for not making any necessary arrangement for their entertainment themselves as there was no television or radio available for them. They all feel cut off from the outside world as they haven’t been able to catch up with the news.
Sources in the health department have said, “Due to shortage of expert medical staff in hospital, the issue of mismanagement in the isolation ward has come up before higher authorities.”
Giving more information on this, civil surgeon Rajesh Kumar Bagga has said, “I have given strict directions to hospital authorities for making appropriate arrangements for suspect patients admitted at the civil hospital for early recovery. Hospital authorities are taking every possible step to counter the issue of suspected patients as well confirm cases by considering their needs,” said the CMO.
