The Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan is doing everything possible to protect itself from the infection of the coronavirus. The government is constantly advising people to use masks while social distancing and getting out of the house.

However, despite the government's appeal, people are seen roaming the streets without masks during a lockdown. Because of this, the state government has taken a tough stance against people not wearing masks during the lockdown period.

The government has made it mandatory to wear masks during the modified lockdown implemented in Rajasthan. Now, if any person is seen walking on the road without wearing a mask, he will have to face a jail sentence for one year. Action will be taken against the culprit in this regard under the Disaster Management Act 2005.

Ashok Gehlot's government of Rajasthan has also issued instructions to all the district collectors of the state in this regard. Under this, Chief Secretary DB Gupta has issued instructions to all district collectors to ensure compliance of these orders of the government.
