Telangana Police helping stranded migrant labourers

The lockdown has left migrant labourers unemployed and stranded thousands of kilometres away from their homes. Without work, they do not have the wages to pay for their food and board. While NGOs are doing their best to provide essentials for them, the Telangana Police has also joined their ranks to help out in anyway possible. The Police are providing groceries and other essentials to the stranded migrants. The Warangal Police has gone out of their way to help migrant labourers from Odisha who work at the brick kilns and have been stranded there jobless since the lockdown. The Police is doing everything they can to make sure that ration reaches these labourers. They have started a food donation drive for these labourers. DGP of Telangana took to Twitter to appreciate this act by the Warangal Police “Keep Going Dear Officers, ACP Srinivas & CI Mahendar on your way #FeedTheNeedy Migrant Brick kiln workers @ Warangal. #MeanWhileInTelangana - reaching every needy at this hour of challenge.” (sic) Telangana Police is working round the clock to help people who are stranded.
