Chandigarh lockdown news: Today's updates from your city

Amid prevalent chaos and uncertainty over access to the essential services and commodities during the lockdown, we bring you the latest updates from your city.
*Haryana government on Monday issued passes to 571 industrial units, with a strength of up to 25 workers, in line with the guidelines issued by the Union ministry of home affairs to give certain relaxations to the sector.
*In view of decreased sale of milk on account of closure of dhabas, tea shops, hotels, restaurants and related services due to the Covid-19 lockdown, the Haryana government has decided to procure surplus milk through dairy cooperatives to prevent disruption in supply of Vita milk and milk products. This year, 40% more milk is being processsed as compared to the corresponding period last year.

*ANI update at 9.18am: Dr Sanjay Jaswal,deployed on Covid-19 duty at PGIMER, hasn't been able to return to his home for 17 days now. His wife Dr Geetika Singh, who works at a pvt hospital, says"Hopefully he'll be home if everything comes out to be negative." He's on quarantine after the duty.

* ANI update at 9.13am: Repeat of 2 TJ ladies done yesterday in Fatehgarh Sahib. One is negative & other was inconclusive. *After Sector 40, the resident welfare associations (RWAs) of other sectors of Chandigarh have also planned to check the entry and exit points of their sectors. The RWAs have planned to seal the entry and exit points to avoid spread of Covid-19 infection.
*A total of 245 positive cases have been reported in Punjab, of which origin of 38 has not been traced so far. Of total, 10 patients had travel history while 167 were contact of positive cases.
*Tricity reported three new Covid-19 cases on Monday. They are an 82-year-old woman from Sector 18 of Chandigarh, a 20- year-old resident of Pinjore, who had attended a two-day Tablighi Jamaat event in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh in March, and a 25-year-old man from Adarsh Nagar in Nayagaon, Mohali.
*The 82-year-old is one of the oldest in Chandigarh to catch Covid-19.
*Mohali deputy commissioner Girish Dayalan has made it clear that industrial units that will house workers on their premises will only be allowed to start operations.
*The Punjab health department has not been able to trace transmission history of about 16% Covid-19 cases.
