MasterChef's Reece Hignell reveals the secret to his whopping 35kg weight loss transformation
He's the professional cake maker who is back in the MasterChef kitchen to prove he can do more than make sweet treats.
But Reece Hignell was worried fans wouldn't recognise him after losing an incredible 35kgs since his first appearance in 2018.
'I lost quite a bit of weight which was great, but to be honest it was so annoying when I first came back because people were like, "Who’s that guy?"' he told The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday.

Who's that guy?' MasterChef's Reece Hignell (pictured) told The Daily Telegraph on Tuesday he was worried fans wouldn't recognise him after losing a whopping 35 kilos since his first stint on the show in 2018
The owner of Newcastle-based business CakeBoi revealed the secret to his weight loss was switching to a plant-based diet - and finding more balance in his life.
'The show was so stressful I didn’t see my health as a priority, I was more focused on the show rather than my health,' he said referring to his original stint on the popular cooking show.
Reece now makes regular 'me time' to go for a run and tracks everything he eats in an app on his phone.

What a difference! Reece has lost a whopping 35 kilos in the last two years by switching to a plant-based diet and finding more balance in life
'What I normally do is log what I eat, I find that’s the best way to keep me accountable,' he added.
Meanwhile, Recce has been feeling the heat back in the MasterChef kitchen.
On Tuesday's episode, after being tasked with cooking one of judge Jock Zonfrillo's complicated prawn dishes, Reece was left red-faced after forgetting to devein a prawn.

'Bit of poo chute in mine,' commented Jock, before scraping it out with his fingers.
'Yeah, I've got some in mine, too,' added fellow judge Andy Allen, causing Reece to wince.
Meanwhile, a silent Melissa Leong was left pulling a long digestive track out of her prawn with her fingers.

Shocking discovery: 'That's a beast!' remarked Andy, causing Reece's jaw to drop wide open. 'Having a poo chute in your prawn, not great,' added Jock after he forgot to devein a prawn on Tuesday's episode
'That's a beast!' remarked Andy, 31, causing Reece's jaw to drop wide open.
'Having a poo chute in your prawn, not great. Which is a shame, 'cause the cooking was good,' Jock told him.
'But when you miss that little step, it doesn't matter how good you're cooking. You missed the step.'
