Share market update: OMCs trade in the red; ONGC slips 7%

The S&P BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 3.59 per cent down at 10938.94 .

NEW DELHI: The BSE Oil & Gas index was trading lower in Tuesday's session.

Shares of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (down​ 6.75 per cent)​, Gujarat State Petronet (down​ 5.52 per cent)​, Reliance Industries (down​ 4.65 per cent)​, Indian Oil Corporation (down​ 4.11 per cent)​, GAIL (India) (down​ 3.32 per cent)​, HPCL (down​ 2.55 per cent)​, Bharat Petroleum Corporation (down​ 2.53 per cent)​, Indraprastha Gas (down​ 2.49 per cent)​, Castrol India (down​ 1.1 per cent)​ and Petronet LNG (down​ 0.55 per cent)​ were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Oil & Gas index was trading 3.59 per cent down at 10938.94 around 02:19 pm.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 291.25 points at 8970.6 , while the BSE Sensex was down 1034.2 points at 30613.8.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 8 were trading in the green, while 42 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, ICICI Bank, Bank of India, JSPL, Tata Motors, SBI, ONGC, Vedanta and Axis Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
