57,517 cases registered against lockdown violators in Maharashtra

NAGPUR: Maharashtra police have registered around 57, 517 cases against the lockdown violators across the state till Monday. Fines of more than Rs 2.20 crore were recovered from the violators since the lockdown was declared in the state.
State police have cracked down on the violators arresting 12,123 persons while enforcing the lockdown. Police have so far arrested 411 persons for assaulting the cops on duty at different places. In one incident, around a dozen of people were arrested in Chandrapur for targeting cops.
The control rooms, across the state, had received 73,344 queries related to coronavirus spread from the citizens and tried to disseminate the required information.
Acting upon the violators, the cops also have seized 40,414 vehicles for plying without police permissions on the roads.
