Punjab: Khalsa Aid member dies in road accident

BATHINDA: Member of international humanitarian relief charity group Khalsa Aid, Inderjit Singh died in road accident near Bajakhana on Bathinda-Faridkot national highway on Tuesday.
Inderjit, hailing from Dehradun in Uttrakhand, along with Jagpreet Singh was going towards Bathinda in a jeep to distribute Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits and masks among the doctors, health workers and cops when the jeep hit the road divider. Both sustained injuries and were taken to a private hospital at Bathinda where Inderjit breathed his last. Distributing kits and masks in Faridkot, both members of the team were on their way to Bathinda when the incident took place.
After giving first aid to Inderjeet Singh at primary health centre at Bajakhana, he was shifted to a private hospital in Bathinda where he succumbed to the grave injuries on Tuesday, said a team member adding Jagpreet Singh though too had sustained multiple injuries but he is out of danger. The Khalsa Aid has its head office at Patiala, which is known for providing support around the world to victims of disasters such as floods, earthquakes, famine. They distribute food, water, clothing, medical and sanitation supplies to needy persons.
