Finance Ministry approves Rs 46 thousand crores as a share of states in central taxes

The central government on Monday approved the release of the April installment of more than Rs 46,038 crore as part of the states in central taxes and duties. According to the information given by the Finance Ministry on Twitter in this regard, this installment has been approved as per the recommendations of the 15th Finance Commission.


The ministry has said that states can effectively combat the situation amidst the spread of the corona epidemic. Therefore, as a special arrangement, taxes have been calculated according to the budget of 2020-21, there has been no change.

In the budget for the year 2020-2021, the share of states in central taxes has been estimated to be Rs 7.84 lakh crore. The 15th Finance Commission has placed the states' share at 41 percent of the distributable amount. For the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, a percentage of it has been kept.

According to the information given on Twitter, out of the total amount of Rs 46,038.70 crore, Uttar Pradesh will get Rs 8,255.19 crore, Bihar will get Rs 4,631.96 crore, Madhya Pradesh will get Rs 3,630.60 crore, Maharashtra will get Rs 2,824.47 crore, Rajasthan will get Rs 2,752.65 crore.

According to this information put on Twitter by the Finance Minister's office, Rs 1,892.64 crore will be released to Andhra Pradesh, Rs 1,441.48 crore to Assam, Rs 1,573.60 crore to Chhattisgarh, Rs 1,564.40 crore to Gujarat and Rs 1,678.57 crore to Karnataka.

West Bengal will get an allocation of Rs 3,461.65 crore, Tamil Nadu Rs 1,928.56 crore, Odisha Rs 2,131.13 crore, Himachal Pradesh Rs 367.84 crore and Uttarakhand Rs 508.27 crore.

In all, 28 states have been approved to release 46,038.70 crore rupees in this installment of April.
