Now the Rajasthan government has decided to return the rapid kits received from China for coronavirus testing claiming it to be 'faulty'. The state government has written to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) saying that the testing kits provided by the Centre are not working. Relevantly, earlier West Bengal too has returned the 'faulty' test kits from China. Rajasthan Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said all the guidelines issued by the Central government regarding the rapid testing kits are being followed by the state government. However, the kits are still failing to detect the infected person and the government has raised the issue with the ICMR. On Friday, India had received 6,50,000 kits from China, which had been distributed to the states. Of these, Rajasthan had received 10,000 rapid test kits. In addition, the Rajasthan government has also procured 1,00,000 rapid kits from China.
